The 514

The client wanted room for his children and a separate wing for the inlaws which gave each generation privacy and limited access. During the course of the job the owner kept coming up with these unusual ideas about what he wanted built into his home, the curved aquarium built into a curved wall, the powder room you see in the photo. During the course of the job he learned CAD on his own and would make drawings of things for me to build! He would dream this stuff up then tell me about it and I would say, "I can't do that. ", to which he would reply in a soft but firm voice, "Yes, you can. " There was no use arguing with him about it since he was obviously not going to listen to reason. So I'd think about it for a while and by the next day I had figured out how I was going to do it.

"I'm a plastic surgeon but in my imaginary life I'm an architect. Les and I worked on this plan for about a year. He was a good sport and built everything I wanted no matter how difficult it was. "
