The green coated zip board serves as a secondary water resistive barrier for protection against any water intrusion that might get behind the siding. The black zip tape seals all the joints to help create an airtight thermal envelope. Sheathing is run horizontally and blocked at all joints to create a more uniform wall surface. This is important to eliminate any waves in the siding which can lead to failure in high winds, not to mention a less than ideal appearance.
Note the steel template at the base of the pilings to create near perfect alignment during the jetting of the pilings.
Concrete pilings offer greater rigidity than wood pilings so there's little to no sway in tall buildings in the wind.
Pilings are jetted down with high pressure water.
8 strand steel reinforced concrete pilings used for higher rigidity compared to wood pilings.
